POY provides Online and Distance Counseling via:
Telephone, FaceTime, Skype, Google Hangouts, Google Duo, Zoom, What’s App, Facebook Messenger and Live Video.
Note: During COVID-19 there is NO in-office sessions or activities.
Local and Distance Counseling sessions convene Monday-Thursday evenings and are made by appointment. Contact POY for more information, including session times, and fees.
Sing To Improve Reading
(STIR Program): This CD project is being implemented in several elementary and community organizations in several states. It teaches phonics and reading through singing. Hundreds of elementary school children are reading better because of this program.
Read to Succeed
This project has reached over 4,000 children and youth using the book, Growin’ & Flowin’ to encourage personal growth, decision-making skills, and character development through reading this book. Growin’ & Flowin’ is said to be a “mentor” for young people in need of one.
Note: During COVID-19, and until further notice, ALL presentations are done online. The requester can choose the media platform as displayed in our Counseling Services.
POY conducts workshops, seminars, trainings, retreats, and a variety of practical presentations for schools, churches, corporations, colleges and universities, civic, social and community-based organizations. POY addresses personal, relational, educational, cultural, and social challenges with solution-oriented strategies for African American children, youth, families, and communities.
Nutrition and Kids Adventures: This CD reaches children and youth ages 6-16. This computer-friendly program teaches nutrition in a fun and interactive way, encouraging physical activity, and the benefits of healthy eating. Ten schools, churches and community groups have implemented this healthy interactive project.

POY addresses other social and health-related concerns such as, substance abuse, HIV/STD prevention education, violence prevention and reduction, conflict resolution, and family intervention.
Since our inception in 1981, POY has chosen a variety of special projects such as, food and needs distribution, Christmas toys drive, community service participation, etc. POY will periodically post Special Projects. We welcome your support and participation.
